Lets explore a 2014 Mourvedre by Marechal Vineyards which is located just outside of Fresno California. So, before we even get into the wine review I have to note the look of the bottle. It’s a nice dark label with the vineyard and year in white letters and the rest in red. It’s just a really nice design that I feel like sets it apart from a lot of other bottles.

It has a nice rich red color making it very inviting and coats the glass very well. Full disclosure, I poured it into a glass and let it sit for about 20 minutes before starting to drink it. So here goes. Over all it’s a very smooth wine, especially for being a 2014. When it hits your tongue it’s smooth, the flavors are full and run through the entire tasting. Mid way through it’s still smooth and full flavored. Finally, the ending doesn’t disappoint. There’s a slight bite at the end, but nothing overpowering. It’s more of something that just reminds you it’s there, but then quickly disappears.

This is a great first body choice and comes nowhere close to breaking the bank. My advice, google a good supporting meal, open the bottle and let it sit for a few then pour away and enjoy. Cheers!
