Anytime you have a wine that’s made by a wine maker that calls his winery, Ammunition, you have to check it out. I went to a wine tasting at The Tasting Room up in Fresno Ca. They had six different wines that they were pouring and I ended up taking three of them home. A nice thing about the tasting was that the wine maker himself was there and you got a chance to sit and chat with him.

Now, down to business. The wine for being only a couple of years old is pretty good. (I did open the bottle and let it sit for roughly a half hour before diving into it.) Taking a quick wif and you can get a small sense of the spice that’s in it. When it first hits your tongue it's pretty smooth, as it starts its journey back the spice starts to show itself and once it’s complete, it lets you know that its there. For a cab I’d say its mid-range in terms of body, which I’m perfectly okay with.

The down and dirty is pretty simple. I like this wine. I think that this is a good starter bottle, a bottle that you can have while it’s just yourself watching some TV, or as a follow-up bottle. So if you have a chance to try Ammunition Wines Cabernet, give it a try.
