Continuing the trip in Austin, I made my way downtown and found a little joint off of 2nd Street called Cru. Yes, it's a chain, but this was the first time I had been there.

It's a Thursday night so not a lot of people were out by the time that I arrived, so I just pulled up a chair at the bar and let the fun begin.

The place was pretty impressive, wine everywhere. The menu had a large number of flights that you could chose from. Each flight had three wines and were poured in 2oz portions. Prices were pretty reasonable, the flights I tried ranged from 13 to 17 bucks.

One of the things that I really enjoyed was that the flights could either focus on one type of wine, or three different ones from different regions from around the world.

The other thing that made this visit so enjoyable was the staff. They were very friendly, very willing to talk wine, but could talk about it in a way that was easy to understand. Overall this was a great little trip out to do some wine tasting, and if your new to wine, I highly recommend giving them a try.
